Enriching our Prep pupils

Having launched our enrichment program in January 2021, we have seen pupils from Year 3-8 joining a wide variety of activities deliberately designed to stretch and challenge them, outside of the curriculum. These ‘clubs’ have offered the opportunity to go beyond the traditional academic topics and extending their learning, thinking and wellbeing. From Maths Puzzles to STEM Projects; Art Appreciation to Current Affairs, the aim is to deliver something a little different- away from the norm- further develop our core ‘Soft Skills’ and provide some entertainment, challenge and the chance to unwind at the end of a busy day.

“Having had the pleasure of observing some of these, I was excited to overhear a heated conversation about George Stubbs’ and Franz Marc’s approaches to painting horses; To read an in-depth chat between Year 4-7 pupils (and their teacher) about how the art made them feel; as well as watching the interacting of staff with pupils (and sometimes parents) when solving some of the trickier riddles and puzzles. Hopefully some new passions, interests and conversations have begun as a result of the offering – it certainly has enriched my day.” said our Assistant Head (Teaching and Learning) Mr Hamilton.
