At Langley School, we are committed to ensuring each member of our community is nurtured, celebrated and included.
Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is at the heart of our mission, guiding our actions and shaping the equitable and inclusive environment we create for our students, families, and staff. We recognize that embracing diversity is not just a goal but a continuous journey that requires active participation, intentionality, and open dialogue.
Guided by our values of kindness, confidence and integrity, our goal is to equip our students with the skills and mindset to navigate the world. We aim to instil a sense of social responsibility and awareness, encouraging them to be advocates for change in their future endeavours.
Our approach is one of listening rather than directing; our role is to support our pupils in exploring their own ideas and thoughts, and in helping them view situations through a broader lens.
At Langley School, we are guided by our DEI mission:
Here at Langley, we are committed to creating an environment which values and promotes diversity, tolerance and respect towards one another. We celebrate our differences and seek to create a culture where – through opportunity – everyone can find their voice and feel that they belong. All are welcome here.
“…the school community is characterised by inclusivity and equality”

Some of the ways we’ve been working to reach our goal:
Delivering topical whole school & year group assemblies that discuss issues such as neurodiversity, white privilege, anti-bullying and LGBTQ+ awareness.
Created whole school diversity events such as the ‘Diversi-tree’ project.
Undertaken a classroom & display audit to measure how diversity is reflected in our curriculum.
Expanded our online and physical library with diverse texts for students to access.
Supported student-led societies: LGBTQ+ Club, Feminist Society, Year 10 Boys Talking group.
Hosted Student Council meetings.
Staff have been invited to show allyship through wearing LGBTQ+ badges.
Engaged with external bodies and organisations to ensure expert delivery of sessions in areas such as Black History Month and Diversity Role Models.
Policy Review – we have made amendments to the school Behaviour Policy that have sought the input of our student groups so that their experiences are reflected accurately.
“‘…the school’s values are evident in the daily lives of pupils and staff. This creates a clear sense of mutual trust and inclusivity in which all pupils are valued as individuals”

The Langley Neurodiversity Games is a hugely popular competition that tests pupils through a series of challenges, encouraging them to work in a team, work together and be the best versions of themselves. This is held annually and organised by our Head of DEI, Ade Watts.
Our most recent celebration saw our pupils part in a range of challenges, both physical and mental, including a human slingshot game!

Annually, we host our Empowering Women event at Langley Senior School and Sixth Form. This event is organised by our Feminist Society, with support from our wider community, and hosts internal as well as external pupils. This is an incredible opportunity for young women to collaborate and come together. Each year, the event includes wonderful guest speakers who discuss their careers and experiences, most of whom are Langley Alumni.
Our 2025 event was a huge success with guest speakers from a huge range of industries. To read more, Click Here
