Angling “Dream Team” bid farewell to Mr Crossley

The Headmaster’s Fishing Hobby, led by Mr Crossley, has been a feature of Taverham Hall and Langley Prep School life for the past 14 years.

Mr Crossley’s patience, nurturing and calm approach, coupled with a passion for angling, has proven to be the perfect combination to inspire the next generation of responsible young anglers and, in turn, lovers of nature.

Along with Chef Joe (angling legend), they have formed the angling’ dream team’ and managed to take a minibus full of children and kit to many fishing lakes and, of course, our stretch of the river Wensum on many Monday afternoons.

Many species have graced the nets of our young anglers, including roach, rudd, bream, perch, gudgeon, carp and pike.

Mike now plans a more solitary pursuit for his piscatorial quarry whilst enjoying his retirement, and chef Joe moves on to a new culinary adventure.

“Spring 2023 will see myself take on this very important role, and the fishing hobby will live on to cast and tangle another day!
