COVID testing

Following Government instruction, Langley was ready to begin mass Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) at the beginning of January to maintain a COVID-safe return to school. However, with a further government announcement just before pupils and students were due to return, Lockdown prevented the start of term in the way that we had hoped.

As a result, we are currently only providing care to vulnerable and keyworker children on both our sites, including Senior School boarding for those who are within attendance criteria. Although not to the scale we had planned, we are testing everyone who has returned to site.

In the first week across both our sites, we completed more than 100 tests, with no positive tests to report. There are continual risk assessments and reviews of our procedures, so that we are going above and beyond our responsibility to keep everyone safe on our sites.

We will continue to communicate directly with parents and staff alike, as well as keeping our dedicated COVID webpage fully up to date. If you have any further questions relating to testing please do not hesitate to contact coronaupdate@langleyschool.co.uk
