Creepy crawly fun in Early Years

This week, the Early Years children have been very inquisitive! With tick sheets and magnifying glasses in hand, we went in search of mini beasts. Eddy found ‘wiggly wormies,’ Sienna found a ladybird, and Ottilie and Emmy saw a buzzy bee!

Both Oak and Acorn classes have made some fabulous caterpillars using paper circles and googly eyes, and ladybirds with lots of spots – Olivia counted six spots on hers. During a numeracy activity counting minibeast legs, Jack said that “spiders have eight legs and they are arachnids.” They showed great observational and listening skills. They are looking forward to next week’s minibeast adventures!
