The stage is set for students

This year we have seen a number of students successfully secure coveted Drama, Theatre and Acting places at Universities and Drama Schools.

Riley (Beauchamp, Upper Sixth), who joined us from Sir John Leman in September 2019 as a Drama Scholar, has definitely made her mark since arriving. Playing the vital role of Tinkerbell in Peter Pan and forming fast and lasting friendships around the school, Riley has been a welcome addition to Langley’s Drama Department. She leaves us to go to East 15 Acting School, whose Alumni include Alison Steadman, David Yip, Elizabeth Henstridge and Diane Morgan. No doubt Riley will soon join the ranks of these luminaries.

Ella (St Giles, Upper Sixth) came to Langley from Christ’s Hospital School in Sussex. She arrived with a very clear vision of what the future holds and has been visible around the Drama Department throughout her two years with us. Playing Wendy in Peter Pan was a particular highlight for the talented actor, who will be going to York University to study Theatre. We look forward to hearing of her big parts and other adventures.

Lydia (Mancroft, Upper Sixth) has been with us all the way through the Senior School. She has won Public Speaking competitions and has been involved in every Drama performance that has been put on, either as a Dancer/ Chorus, a Pink Lady (Jan), A Gaga Girl, as well as Tinkerbell most recently in Peter Pan. She goes on to Chichester University to study Musical Theatre and Acting for Film – it is only a matter of time before we see her on the Silver Screen.

The support of the brilliant Drama and Music Departments has assisted these future stars to reach this stage. Now, we hope they ‘break a leg’ because the ‘show must go on.’
