English Department Host 8th Annual Balloon Debate Competition

Year 6 pupils at the Prep and Senior Schools have been busy researching ‘dead’ famous people and writing biography projects and speeches in the Trinity Term.

The English Department hosted the 8th annual Balloon Debate competition at the end of June. Parents, pupils and teachers listened to eight pupils delivering their persuasive speeches, arguing why their famous person should remain in the hot air balloon due to their significant contributions to society. The judges, comprised of teachers and pupils, commented that the standard of speeches was very impressive.
