Festival of Languages for Prep and Senior

Prep and Senior pupils came together to enjoy a special Festival of Languages, at the Langley Senior School campus, for what was a hugely enjoyable and successful day. Language Scholar Lazaros (Beauchamp, Year 8, Senior School), describes it for us:

On 7th March 2022, the Modern Foreign Languages department hosted a Language Festival for the very first time. On the day we had various taster lessons of Mandarin, French, Spanish and Linguistics. As a Language Scholar I found it an amazing opportunity to hear the pronunciation, look at the vocabulary and compare the grammar and structure of different languages. At the end of the day the festival hosted a Drama Show performed by the Onatti Theatre Company. The performance was very entertaining. Although the actors were speaking mainly French, they made it very easy for us to understand everything using different signs and props. We were all really impressed.

I would like to say a huge thank you to our Modern Foreign Languages department for putting in all the effort to make this happen. Hopefully there will be more Language Festivals like this in the future!
