Spot light on: Deputy Head of School

Deputy Head of School George Tong is an U18 Hong Kong international footballer and the captain of the celebrated Langley Football Academy (LFA).

GT LFA interviewNow in Upper Sixth at Langley School, George Tong arrived from Hong Kong in 2018, aged just 15. His journey since then has been staggering.

Having begun his final year at Langley, George is none other than Deputy Head of School, which is a prestigious role among his peers. He is also captain of the LFA, which attracts players that come from all over the world and is directed by ex-professional Grant Holt. George’s experience also includes playing international football for Hong Kong against the likes of Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

Just as impressive as his sporting prowess, George’s academic achievements include 100% 9 to 7 grades at GCSE. He is currently studying for A Levels in Maths, Physics and Computer Science. In an interview with Grant Holt, we hear about George’s involvement with the LFA, how diverse it is, and he also talks modestly about leadership and what he has learnt during his time at Langley.
