Year 9 pupils work on their Greenpower car

The Design and Technology department was buzzing with co-curricular activities on Wednesday, including Year 9 pupils working on the aerodynamic design of their Greenpower electric car.

More than 10,000 people, aged 9 to 25 take part in the Greenpower project each year, where teams build a Kit Car and race them against each other at global motorsport venues.

“We inspire young people around the world to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through a unique challenge: to design, build and race an electric car.”
– Greenpower

The aim of the project is to use the excitement of motorsport to encourage an early interest in STEM, helping to kickstart careers in engineering.
