Langley pupils celebrate excellent GCSE results

There was plenty to celebrate at Langley today as our pupils received excellent GCSE results.

We are delighted to report that 92% of results this year are Grades 9-4, and 30% are at Grades 9-7, which is the equivalent of A* or A. Our pupils are now looking forward to taking the next steps on their educational journeys.

As well as pleasing overall results, there were a number of outstanding individual performances. Michael Stone achieved a fantastic seven 9s and three 8s, and Zoe Hubbard received four 9s, four 8s and a 7. Asa Cohen secured three 9s, six 8s, one 7, and Matthew Pelham achieved three 9s, three 8s, one 7 and two 6 grades. Overall, 136 grades were awarded at a 9-7.

Headmaster, Jon Perriss commented: “The excellent results earned by Langley pupils demonstrates fantastic commitment and resilience over the past three years; time disrupted by lockdowns and living in bubbles. Staff and parents have been wonderful supports throughout and I am proud of all in the Langley community.”

There were also strong grades within individual subjects. In languages, 100% of Chinese, 75% of French and 67% of Spanish grades were at level 9-7. In sciences, Biology, Chemistry and Physics all saw a 100% pass rate and over 50% of grades at the top levels 9-7.

We wish all our pupils well as they move onto the Langley Sixth Form or paths beyond.
