‘Me and the Animals’ Year One Topic: A Day with Kit

As part of our ‘Me and the Animals’ topic in Year One Oscar C brought in his kitten Kit to show the class.

The children had a wonderful time stroking and holding Kit. Kit also had a lot of fun climbing from lap to lap and having treats from the children.

The children used their growth mindset characters Mac and Mabel who are the collaborative twins. They work together, help each other, share ideas, and encourage each other. Oscar and Kit were just like Mac and Mabel and worked together to show how high Kit can jump.

It was an amazing opportunity to teach the children about caring for animals and experience having a pet.
