Meet the Team: Sarah Menegaz, Deputy Head Academic (Prep)
Name & Job title
Sarah Menegaz, Deputy Head Academic (Prep)
Where did you join Langley from/what was your previous role?
I joined Langley Prep School (or Taverham, as it used to be called) in April 2007 and it is has been a privilege to contribute to its development over the years.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role at Langley…
I oversee the curriculum and lead on any teaching and learning developments ranging from effective pedagogical strategies, the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate (PSB@LPS), assessment and reporting, embedding 1:1 devices into teaching and learning, staff development, etc. I also work as an ISI Team Inspector and PSB Auditor and Consultant. I am very interested in the educational themes of metacognition, self-regulation, character education and Growth Mindset.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Langley?
Working with such delightful children and staff! There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have made a difference and helped a pupil or a colleague on their journey, either unlocking their learning/teaching potential, boosting their confidence or being a listening ear.
Any hobbies/interests outside of school?
I enjoy Pilates, reading, travelling, arts and crafts and spending time with my family in the UK and in France. I have always had a fascination for the Japanese language and culture and I enjoy going to a rock concert whenever I can!
A fun fact about yourself.
Before the times of Health and Safety, I managed to get my nose broken in a PE lesson when I was 12, as I played backstop in a game of Baseball. My over-enthusiastic friend threw the bat behind her after hitting the ball and it hit me in the face! I guess I was lucky I didn’t end up with a brain injury…! #lookonthebrightside
