End of term Outdoor Learning

Last term’s chilly, and often wet, weather didn’t put pupils off enjoying the ancient woodland of our Outdoor Learning Centre. A steady supply of hot chocolates, marshmallows and a roaring fire all helped create special times. Thanks to the Langley Estates team, a brand new shelter also gave extra protection from the elements.

Lots of activities took place, varying from classic den building, animal sculptures, nature hunts, to sharing poems and jokes based on the theme of leaves. Of course, all the while following the holistic nature of forest school learning with lots of play.

During the final time in the woods for 2021, pupils shared their thoughts and hopes for the New Year, including Martha who said “family and health,” and Georgia who said “nature and friends.”

Mr Edwards said, “I am already looking forward to 2022 ‘up in the woods’ sharing and enjoying such a special space with our pupils. In the meantime, I hope that we can all find time during these holidays to relax and breathe in what nature has to offer.”
