One 2 One Devices

At Langley we recognise the importance of Digital Technology. From Trinity term 2022, as part of the Langley educational experience, we will be providing pupils and students with a One 2 One device that allows for new experiences on their educational journey throughout their time at school. A technology-rich teaching and learning program with the use of these devices equips our young people with the skills and knowledge they need for both further education and the workplace.

We have chosen the Microsoft Surface as the device that forms part of the toolkit here at Langley School. This 2 in 1 device can be used as a laptop but also as a tablet, coupled with the stylus, which gives the ultimate flexibility in the classroom. All Langley-issued devices will come pre-loaded with the software that our pupils and students need for their lessons, and to keep them safe and secure online, both in school and at home.

Our recent investment in new wireless infrastructure throughout both sites means that these devices can be used at ease both in and outside the classroom.

This device is provided to your child for the duration of their studies at Langley School, with replacement at appropriate intervals. Depending on their Year group, pupil devices will be used during the school day and left to charge overnight, or taken home or to boarding to continue access to learning materials when undertaking prep.

Langley has partnered with Microsoft Education to provide the highest quality devices to meet the demands of our tech savvy community. Alongside this we are working with Tablet Academy to develop and provide the professional development for our staff to ensure they are equipped to teach our young people how they can use these fantastic devices effectively as part of their learning toolkit.
