Pre-Prep ‘Higgledy Piggledy Nativity’

This week in Pre-Prep, the Transition and two Reception classes performed their play, ‘Higgledy Piggledy Nativity.’

It was set in Bethlehem but the stable was cluttered, disorganised and full to bursting with animals, donkeys, sheep, chickens, mice, a cow, a horse, a turkey, a goat and a cat. Some serious tidying up was needed and the animals wondered, when Mary and Joseph arrive, where the baby would go. The horse suggested using the manger and the relieved animals watched Mary place Jesus in the hay. The kings were seen following the star to Bethlehem and , accompanied by angels, Gabriel told the shepherds and their sheep about the birth of Jesus.

The shepherds and the sheep, together with the kings, all went to Bethlehem where they found the animals in the stable with Mary and Joseph, the four innkeepers and the angels. The finale had the whole cast singing a very catchy song ‘Come to Bethlehem town.’

The children sung beautifully, they all spoke their lines clearly and the dancing was fantastic. It’s hard to believe that they are aged between three and five. What an amazing achievement from such youngsters, well done.
