Pre-Prep poppies that say thank you

poppy year 1This week in Pre-Prep we remembered those who lost their lives in World War I and II and in recent conflicts. Many children and staff showed their gratitude to the soldiers by wearing a poppy. As a School, we showed our respect by holding a two minute silence at 11:00.

“This is to say thank you to the soldiers,” said Olivia.

Pre-Prep pupils discussed the poppy and what it signifies on Armistice Day. The children then created their own poppy related artwork, ranging from drawing pictures to creating badges. Transition class watched a short film ‘Poppies’ before creating their own poppy field pictures. The children used their fingers to create a flower and a stem using paint. “This is to say thank you to the soldiers,” said Olivia.
