From Chinese New Year to snow days!

EsmieIn Reception they have been celebrating Chinese New Year today (Friday), across all subjects, starting with one of our Reception pupil’s mum talking (remotely) about China during their English session. Other activities have included writing interesting facts about China from a powerpoint. In Maths, they have been using Chinese symbols for 1-100 and creating a Chinese Dragon using shapes. During Topic, the pupils made an ox using different materials and writing ox using Chinese symbols and enjoyed colouring in sheets representing all animals from the Chinese zodiac.

In Early Years the children have also been celebrating and learning all about Chinese New Year and learning the phonic sound of ‘U’. On their return to School on Thursday the children took the opportunity to have a good old play in the snow with their friends.

Our Pre-Prep pupils also continue to be working tremendously hard on their remote learning and enjoyed the snow for a bit of respite. Here a few examples to show what our pupils have been up to recently:

Kanon S (Reception) has been very creative using Lego.
William S (Year 1) from the Sycamore class proudly showing his writing this week and enjoyed finding snowdrops.
Year 2s doing some shape investigations with lollie sticks.
Sefton P (Year 2) from the Cedar class is having what looks like an amazing time outside!
Year 2 key worker children have been making bread.
Shinji (Year 2) and Marvin JB (Oaks) continue to have a fabulous time in Thailand visiting a wildlife park.
