Reception pupils visit High Green Farm

The children in Reception had a fantastic time this morning re-visiting High Green Farm with Mr and Mrs Rutterford. The morning was spent looking for minibeasts to tie in with their current topic, exploring new arrivals such as the lambs and piglets, admiring the beautiful, but rather noisy peacocks, and checking how much the chicks have grown since they hatched in the Reception classrooms.
It was so lovely to see the children having a wonderful time in the meadows chasing each other,  following fresh-cut paths, hiding amidst the long grass, singing circle game songs, collecting daisies and buttercups, and blowing dandelions to check the time! The children all played beautifully together, and all had a wonderful time exploring in the glorious sunshine.
It was a wonderful morning, and the icing on the cake was the picnic lunch at the end! Another successful trip for Reception. We are looking forward to our next one already to Banham Zoo.
