Sixth Form Taster Day preview

Sixth Form FIOn 12th October we will be hosting our annual Sixth Form Taster Day. It’s an opportunity for our Year 11 pupils to sample the life of a Sixth Form student, ahead of their transition into the Lower Sixth. The day provides them with the chance to dress like a Sixth Former in their business wear, to sample the delights of the Café (bacon sandwiches or our vegetarian alternatives), to try out a wide range of ‘new’ and ‘old’ subjects but at a higher level and to make the most of the Alston Centre, with Ms Vinsen and Mr Claydon (and resident wellbeing dog Indi of course).

We will also welcome members of other schools interested in coming to Langley, so it is a great opportunity to make new friends. Sixth Form life provides a wealth of opportunities, freedoms and responsibilities that enable students to take on leadership roles, to engage in the organisation of activities and mentoring, to take responsibility for the branches of the CCF and House System, as well as to apply for universities, apprenticeships and plan Gap Years. There will also be the chance to discuss their futures with current Sixth Formers and ask for thoughts and advice. We hope our current Year 11s make the most of the Alston Centre, our dedicated Sixth Form space, and begin to envision the next steps of their Langley journey.
