Sixth Formers’ last day at Langley

Every year students transition from Upper Sixth to Icenians, and 2021 is no different. Our wonderful cohort of students are University, Apprenticeship, Gap Year and Workplace bound and will be sorely missed when they officially leave us in July; they have lit a fire and now passed the maintenance of this beacon onto their peers in the Year below.

Their last day of formal teaching was full of tearful farewells to staff and students alike; belly laughs and red faces when they discovered Ms Vinsen and Mrs Greenwood had collected photos from their youth (and displayed them for all to see); full bellies after the Leaver’s Brunch and BBQ laid on by the catering team and knowledge that their link to Langley will always be there after listening to a talk from the Icenians. Their handprints will take pride of place in the Sixth Form centre and their outstanding work will burn a trail, that others will follow at Langley, for years to come.

We wish them the best of luck for their next steps and we wait, with baited breath, to see what masterpieces they will paint with their lives; we will watch on with pride and joy – looking forward to seeing them again and welcoming them back, whenever they are passing through.
