Sharing a joke on Red Nose Day

There were lots of smiles and laughter in Pre-Pre this morning as all the children became the ‘Masked Joker’ to take part in Red Nose Day. The theme this year is ‘Funny is Power’ and the children enjoyed learning and sharing a joke with their friends.

All of Early Years had a fabulous Red Nose day, having made their own choice of red nose mask. Their fine motor skills development for cutting and colouring was evident in their work and lots fantastic animal masks used in their role play during the day.

This week, the children also have been very excited to get involved with our Farm topic.

They have talked about the different types of farms and what they can find. They have also learned that Farmers are very important as they grow lots of our food and provide us with meat and milk too.

Acorns used 2D shapes to cut out and make pictures of tractors. They have also used collage materials to support their colour and shape recognition producing beautiful caterpillars. Den building has been the highlight of their week during forest school activities.

Oaks have been using their animal knowledge to match the baby animals with their parents.

They have used chalks to produce some spectacular still life daffodil pictures and have continued to enjoy the outdoor exploring searching for signs of birds, lambs and flowers on their nature walks.
