U15 County Rugby 7s 2022

Our U15 team stormed through their recent County Rugby 7s competition. It was another proud day for the School with the boys finishing joint 3rd overall in the county. Here’s a match-by-match run through.

Langley 54 – 0 Hethersett Academy
A blistering start to the day’s rugby saw both teams moving the ball into space. There were some impressive individual scores with the whole Langley squad getting in on the action.

Langley 12 – 31 Greshams
With one score between the teams at half time this was a tense, physical encounter and both teams worked exceptionally hard in both attack and defence. Unfortunately, Greshams made the better use of their possession in the second half but the commitment and effort from the Langley players was superb.

Langley 34 – 5 Dereham Neatherd
Full credit to Dereham who retained the ball well and showed some excellent technique and strength in the rucks and tackles. However, when we won possession, Langley was able to exploit the space in the wide channels, effectively moving the ball from touchline to touchline until a break could be made. Character and sportsmanship continue to define Langley rugby teams in their performances.

Langley 31 – 12 Thetford
This was a game that was still in the balance at half time. The Langley players showed plenty of grit and determination in the second half to finish another exciting and expansive game. The support play in both attack and defence was the difference in the end and characterises the contribution from the whole playing squad.

The highlight of the day, despite scoring 131 points in just 56 minutes in attack, was the defensive work rate from the whole squad, especially the four try-saving tackles made by players racing more than 60m to tackle or hold up the opposition. #Perseverando
