Students awarded in UK Maths Challenge

UKMT senior maths challengeCongratulations to Langley Senior School students who have received Silver and Bronze certificates in this year’s Senior UKMT Maths Challenge.

While the challenge has recently evolved to incorporate an online option, we were delighted to welcome the return of in-person challenges. Around 30 Langley students participated this year from Lower and Upper Sixth, along with two wildcard entries from Year 11.

Deputy Head of School George led by example, receiving the Silver Certificate and the award for best in the School. Bronze certificates also went to: Tom (Mancroft, Upper Sixth), Joe (Beauchamp, Upper Sixth), Freddie (Mancroft, Upper Sixth), Jay (Crome, Upper Sixth), Josh (Crome, Upper Sixth), May (Mancroft, Lower Sixth), Rhys (St Giles, Lower Sixth), Ruben (Beauchamp, Lower Sixth), Lucy (Mancroft, Upper Sixth).

Senior School Head of Mathematics Mr. Goodhew comments, “I was delighted to see the students engaging again in this annual event, with pen, paper, and their fantastic intellect. I trust that the Intermediate and Junior pupils will participate in their respective events with the same level of enthusiasm.”

Intermediate and Junior Maths challenges take place later this year, and the School looks forward to more fantastic results.
