Footballer praised in England camp

Rising star Waylon (Crome, Year 11) travelled to Portugal with the England U16 football team earlier in February for a UEFA Development Tournament, which saw him starting for his country.

Waylon, who is studying for his GCSEs this summer and who also plays for Norwich City FC, was part of the camp that included academia as well as squad and 1:1 training, plus international fixtures against the likes of Germany, when Waylon was in the starting line up.

Coaching staff said, “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Waylon on this camp. He always conducts himself in a professional manner and shows what a mature young man he is. Waylon was very well prepared for the education sessions. [He] prioritised his work well and demonstrated a tremendous work ethic.”

The staff added that they were, “Very impressed with Waylon’s attitude and commitment during this camp and he conducted himself immaculately throughout.”

Huge congratulations to Waylon for doing himself, his family, and his school proud. #LangleyFamily
