Intellectual curiosity in Year 1
Year 1 children have embraced the school value of intellectual curiosity and have conducted some Science investigations for their new topic ‘Toys and Games.’ Pupils have explored what happens when a toy car goes down different sized ramps and, during the investigation, the children made predictions and talked about what they found out. They certainly had a lot of fun choosing their car and measuring how far it went.
The children also used magnets to investigate which objects in the classroom are magnetic and non-magnetic. There was a lot of excitement as they discovered that not all metals are magnetic! Pupils have begun to make a fishing game using what they have learnt about magnets, and we look forward to sharing their completed games soon.
Well done, Year 1, stay curious!
