Black History Month celebrations

At Langley School we have been celebrating the wide range and variety of contributions Black and Asian individuals have made during a celebration of Black History Month.

In the UK, October has been designated Black History month for the past thirty years. Last week at our Senior School saw some very powerful and thought-provoking chapel services led by Head of School Cesaire.

Then, on Friday 8th October, Year 8 pupils took part in a series of different co-curricular activities to give them a greater flavour and understanding of people from different cultures. Langley School was very pleased to welcome Anna Madeka who has been a regular visitor to the School for many years. Anna led the pupils in learning more about African drumming.

Mr Felton will be visiting the Prep School later in October to work with our Year 8 pupils there as part of Black History Month.

Thanks go to all the staff who organised an interesting range of different activities for the pupils, and special thanks Mr White and Mr Felton who coordinated the whole day.
