Senior School welcome
Deputy Head Academic, Mrs Rachel Ayres
I am responsible for ensuring that Langley is an environment of academic rigour, curiosity and excitement, where students and teachers alike can excel. We are a learning community united by a common purpose to achieve beyond what we imagined ourselves capable; through challenging our young people and encouraging them to persevere, to practise and to reflect, we help them flourish both personally and academically. The Academic Team also comprises the Assistant Heads, Mrs Nikola Bodmer-Tripp (Teaching and Learning) and Mr Leigh Sitch (Director of Studies).
Deputy Head Co-Curricular, Mr Andrew Walker
My role is to develop and coordinate the huge amount of learning that takes place outside the classroom; from Creative Arts, Sport, the Langley Football Academy, school visits and trips, Activities, to the Duke of Edinburgh Award and CCF. Delivered by our amazing team of staff, our co-curricular offering gives a clear insight into what makes ‘Langley life’ so special. I have worked at Langley since 2007 in a variety of roles and I also teach A-Level Philosophy and BTEC Sport.
Deputy Head Pastoral, Mr Paul Clark
I look after and improve the welfare of all pupils and students in the school. This encompasses developing the mental health provision, which is something that I am extremely passionate about. Having positive mental health among the pupil body is vital so that they can flourish in all their academic and co-curricular endeavours. I also take the lead on behaviour matters; I am the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and oversee the Boarding community. Incredibly caring and nurturing, the Pastoral team includes Boarding Houseparents, Heads of Year, the Nurses, Learning Support and EAL.
