Well-being

Award-winning well-being as standard.

Langley holds the national Wellbeing Award for Schools, for both the Prep and Senior School. The award recognises school culture, staff well-being and training, strategy and vision.

Within the school community, everyone is responsible for creating a positive culture and practising positive well-being, which is why we value input from staff, pupils, students, parents, governors and external partners; it starts at school and impacts the wider world.

Equipping our pupils

  • Formal Mindfulness course

  • In-class meditation

  • Medical professionals – available all day at both sites

  • Mental health toolkits – facilitating discussions on mood, self-regulation, and a healthy mind and body

  • Mindfulness walks – across the 100-acre grounds at our respective Prep and Senior School sites

  • Pre-Prep’s ‘Brave corner’

  • Prep School’s ‘Time 4 U room’

  • Resident well-being dogs at both sites

  • Senior School’s ‘Time to Talk’ service

  • Silent reflection – catered for during the Senior School chapel service

  • Small classes – the most advantageous environment for learning and positive well-being

  • The Outdoor Learning Centre at our Prep School – being immersed in nature has proven to enhance well-being

  • Volunteer listening service – pupils and students can talk to trained professionals

  • Weekly Assembly programme – actively raising issues throughout the school year
