Prep Well-being

Prep Well-being

Well-being is at the centre of all that we do.

Class Teachers (for Years 3–4) and Form Tutors (for Years 5–8) are the first point of contact between home and school. Form time allows tutors to check individual academic progress, involvement in school life as well as general happiness and interests, providing support where necessary.

Our mentoring programme pairs Year 8 pupils with Year 3 pupils, to provide guidance and help while settling into the Prep School way of life. Year 3 pupils are able to turn to their mentors for answers to general questions, or for help with a specific problem. A Psychotherapeutic Child Counsellor is also in place.

Well-being provisions across all areas of the School include:

  • Mental health toolkits – facilitating discussions on mood, self-regulation and a healthy mind and body

  • Mindfulness walks

  • ‘Time 4 U’ room

  • Medical professionals

  • Weekly Assembly programme

  • Well-being dog

  • A broad PDE curriculum

  • Pupil well-being surveys

  • Pupil voice and awareness weeks
