Opportunities around every corner.
Whether on the sports field, enjoying our woodlands, or becoming involved in our performing and creative arts, we provide our Prep pupils with a variety of opportunities outside of their classrooms, enabling them to share a sense of pride in all areas of the school.
Here at Langley, we want every pupil to enjoy playing sport in some form during their time at the Prep School and the positive experiences that it can bring. The school motto, Conanti Dabitur – ‘through effort we succeed’ – encapsulates our aims for sport at Langley Prep School.
With outstanding sports facilities, extensive playing fields and our new MUGA (multi-use games area), our pupils have endless opportunities to further develop their sport skills or perhaps try something new. Our talented and dedicated Games staff are committed to providing the best possible environment and coaching to enable each child to reach their full potential, as part of a team or as an individual.
Sport plays a vital part of life at the school, helping our pupils to develop their self-esteem and social skills, whilst also teaching them the value of teamwork. We believe in the importance of pupils learning to win and lose, and understanding good sporting values such as teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.
Offering Drama, Dance, Music and Art & Design, pupils at Langley are able to pursue their passions not only within the academic curriculum but also through our diverse programme of Hobbies and Enrichment.
In Music, instrumentalists and vocalists have a range of opportunities to perform as part of our regular musical soirees and House singing competitions. Concerts and events are staged each term and our pupils are offered weekly chances to perform in Musical Treat Assemblies. Pupils are able to join our Magna Voce Choir, Rock Band and Woodwind Ensemble.
For Drama, pupils can take to the stage through a variety of productions from musicals to plays. Each year group will put on a stage performance during the year and all of our pupils have the opportunity to take part in LAMDA drama lessons.
Our Hobbies and Enrichment programme offers our pupils a wide variety of co-curricular activities ranging from Cooking to Coding, Fishing to Chess, and Hama Beads to Bird Watching in our woodlands.
Weekly Enrichment sessions provide pupils in Years 5-8 the chance to challenge themselves through cerebral activities such as Puzzle Club, Book Club, Japan Club and Music Theory, or to develop new skills outside of the curriculum through attendance at clubs such as Animation Club or Model Making.
