Senior Well-being

Award-winning well-being support.

Prioritising well-being has earned us the nationally-recognised Wellbeing Award for both our Prep and Senior School. We have trained mental health first aiders, plus a programme in place to train all staff. Throughout our whole school community, everyone is responsible for practising positive well-being, which means it’s at the heart of Langley.

Award-winning well-being

  • ‘Time to Talk’ service – a bespoke programme for our Senior School pupils

  • Chapel service – ideal for silent reflection

  • Formal Mindfulness course – for Year 10 PSHEE

  • In-class meditation – creating time and space during the day

  • Medical professionals – our School Nurses are available on-site all day

  • Mental health toolkits – facilitating discussions on mood, self-regulation, and a healthy mind and body

  • Mindfulness walks – making the most of the 110-acre grounds at Langley Park

  • Resident well-being dog Indi is a key member of the Langley community

  • Small classes – the most advantageous environment for learning and positive well-being

  • Volunteer listening service – pupils and students can talk to trained professionals

  • Weekly Assembly programme – actively raising issues throughout the school year

Pastoral support

Heads of Year, Head of Boarding, Form Tutors, School Nurses, School Counsellor, Pastoral Support Workers, Safeguarding Team and Mental Health First Aiders. Our trained Sixth Form Mentors can also offer support to pupils if it is needed.

Personal Development Education

Personal Development Education (PDE) at Langley is comprised of PSHEE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education), Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Citizenship Education and Careers Education.

PDE lessons are essential to the well-being of our pupils and crucial to a holistic, well-rounded education. Lessons cover a broad range of topics including study skills, careers, finance, self-concept, personal values, mental health, identity, diversity, sex education and sexual health, understanding the law and society, plus relationships with peers, family, friends and partners. Our aim is to give our pupils a robust and rich learning experience that helps them grow into happy, healthy people.
