Opportunities around every corner.
All Pre-Prep children are taught swimming, athletics, ball skills, music and movement, as well as general physical education.
We are a proud member of School Sport Partnerships, alongside 40 other local schools. As part of the partnership, we run large competitive events for Year 1 and Year 2, including cross-country and multiskill events here at our Prep School in Taverham. We are always delighted to host local primary schools and share our wonderful grounds and facilities with them.
During the Trinity Term, House swimming galas take place in Year 1 and Year 2, and we also have our annual Sports Day and Cross-Country event.
There are many opportunities for the children in Pre-Prep to undertake sport as part of their after-school hobbies.
Pre-Prep swim once a week in our on-site indoor swimming pool, taking part in the ASA swimming award, which is a Nationally accredited programme. In the summer, all Pre-Prep children participate in a Swimming Gala.
Across Drama, Dance, Music and Art & Design, we offer children the opportunity to pursue their passions right from the beginning of their Langley journey, from our Reception class and beyond.
All Pre-Prep children receive a 30-minute music lesson, and music plays a key role in our daily assemblies. Children in Year 1 and Year 2 are invited to join the Choir and there are visiting Music Teachers for individual music lessons.
Pupils also take part in a number of productions and performances from the Nativity in Reception, through to the Year 1 Pantomime and Year 2 play in the summer. They also participate in House music competitions, performances and Prep School soirees.
A wide variety of co-curricular activities are offered as part of our after-school Hobbies programme. There is a range of options from Cooking to Coding, Karate to Chess, and from Tennis to Performance Arts.
For the hour after school, between 15:30 and 16:30, we offer a chargeable Wrap-around Care programme. During that time, pupils can choose from a whole host of Hobbies, including Football, Choir, Tennis, Yoga, Drama and Fun Dance. Please note that some Hobbies incur an additional charge. At the end of each term a new brochure goes out, from which parents select the following term’s Hobbies for their little ones.
