Scholarships & Bursaries

Help where it’s needed.

Scholarship and Bursary awards reward excellence and celebrate outstanding potential across a number of different areas.

We also believe that a Langley education should be accessible beyond those who can afford it.

Academic, Languages and Co-Curricular scholarships are available in varying degrees across the school. We also offer means-tested financial assistance dependent on the level of parental income.

More Information

  • Each year, we offer scholarships to pupils demonstrating outstanding ability in their chosen field. Successful pupils are rewarded with an annual amount deducted from their fees which lasts throughout their time at the school.

Scholarships are offered at 11+ (Year 7), 13+ (Year 9) and 16+ (Year 12) entry points. 11+ scholarships are available at both Taverham and Loddon sites.

Scholarships are available in the following areas: Academic, Art, Computing, Drama, Design and Technology, Food and Nutrition, Languages, Music, Photography and Sport.

A Langley scholarship offers fee remissions at 15% of the annual fee alongside enrichment and educational opportunities designed to maximise potential in our Scholars.

The scholarship programme runs alongside the means-tested bursary programme. Those receiving a scholarship will be able to apply for a bursary if they need assistance in paying school fees. Scholarships are based on interviews, performance and assessment.

  • If you would like more information on our scholarships please take a look at our Scholarship Brochure or contact our Admissions Team by emailing admissions@langleyschool.co.uk

All applicants will be invited to take part in scholarships assessment week in January. Late applications will be considered in exceptional circumstances.

  • To apply for a scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Application Form and return to admissions@langleyschool.co.uk, along with the Scholarship Reference Form, which should be completed by the relevant Head of Department, Class Teacher or Coach. Applications should be received by 1st December.

  • There are two types of scholarships dedicated to getting young people a sought-after place into Langley Sixth Form.

The Nelson Scholarship is geared towards an ambitious and empathetic young person who exemplifies the Langley values of kindness, curiosity, confidence and integrity. We want to invest in someone who will shape the world into a better place. To help get you there, we provide the community, opportunity and excellence.

The Anthony Arthur Coward Scholarship is based on outstanding academic potential and socio-economic need. Anthony Arthur Coward was from London but boarded at Langley in the 60s and 70s. He appreciated the care and tuition he received at Langley, and Barbara Hunt, his aunt, wanted to reflect this fondness for Langley in her will. This scholarship is thanks to a Langley family with a lasting legacy.

  • For families who would not be able to afford the full Langley fees, we offer financial assistance ranging typically up to 50% of fees.

Eligibility is assessed via means testing. Any family wishing to make an application for fee assistance should apply through the broader admissions process. A confidential ‘statement of financial position’ will be required from families of children invited to attend an interview.
