Living and studying in an English-speaking environment is the best way to master the language. You’ll use English every day in classes, with your friends, and in your daily life, helping you to become fluent quickly. Your ability to speak all types of English, from subject-specific to informal to business English, will be a significant advantage in your future studies and career. At Langley School, we make the international experience as integrated as possible. We don’t believe in separation of international students; instead, we use our EAL (English as an Additional Language) Department to bolster existing skills so that all our international students can fully access the curriculum.

These are valuable life skills that will serve you well in university and beyond. Here at Langley, we pride ourselves on outstanding pastoral support, so while you’ll be encouraged to manage your time in an age-appropriate way, there is always support for you if you’re struggling.

Beyond the classroom, Langley School offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Whether you’re interested in sports, music, drama or art, there are countless opportunities to explore your passions and try new things. These activities help you develop confidence, teamwork and leadership skills. Outside of classes, we encourage all our boarders to take part in evening and weekend activities, some on-site and some in other parts of the UK. We look to engage all our boarders in a wide variety of interests. It’s a great opportunity to take some time out, and to explore new hobbies and interests.

Studying at Langley School gives you the chance to experience British culture first-hand. From historical landmarks to modern cities, there’s so much to explore. You’ll also get to celebrate British holidays and celebrations, try new foods, and perhaps even pick up some British slang!

We provide excellent pastoral care. You’ll be supported by dedicated staff who are there to help you with any challenges you might face, whether academic or personal. Aside from our Head of Boarding, we have a counsellor, medical staff and highly engaged Form Tutors and Heads of Year who will make every effort to make you feel at home and cared for. From a parental perspective, we will keep in touch with you throughout the boarding experience, reassuring you that your child is doing well.
