Overview

Langley School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school for children and young people aged six months to 18. Across two beautiful 100-acre campuses near Norwich, we offer a continuous educational journey through Bluebell Nursery, Pre-Prep, Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form.

Our Taverham and Loddon campuses welcome pupils from towns, villages and communities across Norfolk and Suffolk, as well as boarding pupils from elsewhere in the UK and around the world. We make use of every corner of our campuses including our specialist learning facilities, expansive green spaces, outstanding sports facilities and opportunities for pupils to learn, explore and develop beyond the classroom. Langley School was also featured in The Times and The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2025, published on 6 December 2024.

Langley Prep School

Set within approximately 100 acres of parkland, Taverham Park is where the Langley journey begins. Its impressive neo-Jacobean Hall, ancient woodland, outdoor learning areas and specialist facilities create an inspiring setting for younger children.

  • Bluebell Nursery: six months to four years
  • Pre-Prep: four to seven years
  • Prep School: seven to 13 years

Bluebell Nursery, Taverham

Bluebell Nursery provides Early Years education for children from six months to four years old. Children learn and play in age-appropriate rooms while benefitting from access to the wider Prep School grounds. Daily opportunities to spend time outdoors help children build confidence, curiosity, communication skills and independence. The Taverham nursery was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2024.

Langley Pre-Prep

Pre-Prep supports children aged four to seven, covering Reception and Years 1 and 2. It provides a warm and supportive transition from Nursery into school, combining strong educational foundations with opportunities for creativity, movement, exploration and outdoor learning.

Langley Prep School

Langley Prep School welcomes pupils aged seven to 13, from Year 3 through to Year 8. Small classes, specialist teaching and a diverse curriculum help pupils develop academically and personally while preparing confidently for the next stage of their education.

Facilities at Taverham Park

The Taverham campus offers an indoor swimming pool, purpose-built classrooms, multi-use games area, specialist teaching spaces for subjects such as robotics, food technology and Art, and a timber-framed woodland classroom. Taverham is also home to the Junior Langley Football Academy.

Pupils also benefit from extensive woodland, private access to the River Wensum, tennis and netball courts, cricket pitches and nets, rugby pitches and athletics areas. The combination of indoor facilities, open grounds and access to the natural environment allows pupils to discover their interests and develop their passions.

Local Norfolk Areas

Langley Prep School is well placed for families living in Norwich and nearby communities including Taverham, Drayton, Costessey, Hellesdon, Horsford, Wymondham, Dereham and surrounding Norfolk villages. Our wider school transport network also helps make the campus accessible to families travelling from other parts of Suffolk and Norfolk. Langley Park: Nursery, Senior School, Sixth Form and Boarding

Langley Park is located in the south Norfolk countryside within Grade I-listed parkland originally designed by the celebrated 18th-century landscape gardener Capability Brown.

The historic estate provides a spacious and inspiring setting for Bluebell Nursery, Senior School, Sixth Form, boarding, and the Langley Football Academy and Langley Rugby Academy.

Bluebell Nursery, Loddon

Our Loddon campus has its own dedicated Bluebell Nursery for children aged six months to four years. Located within the grounds of Langley Senior School, the nursery provides a secure, nurturing and age-appropriate environment for babies, toddlers and preschool children. Children benefit from purpose-built learning spaces, outdoor activities and regular opportunities to explore the wider parkland. The setting gives younger children the space and freedom to develop through play while becoming part of the wider Langley community from the beginning of their educational journey.

Langley Senior School

Langley Senior School provides a broad and ambitious education for pupils aged 10 to 16. Academic learning is complemented by sport, music, drama, creative arts, technology, leadership opportunities and an extensive co-curricular programme. Purpose-built classrooms, computing suites, science and technology facilities, sports spaces and extensive grounds support learning across the curriculum.

Langley Sixth Form

Langley Sixth Form welcomes students aged 16 to 18. Students can choose from a range of A Levels, BTECs and professional qualifications, supported by individual guidance, careers education and preparation for university, apprenticeships and employment. Sixth Form students also benefit from leadership opportunities, enrichment activities and the option to become part of Langley’s boarding community.

Boarding at Langley

Langley offers full, weekly and flexi-boarding for pupils aged 10 to 18. The boarding community includes pupils from Norfolk and Suffolk, other areas of the UK and international pupils. Boarders benefit from supportive pastoral care, comfortable accommodation, evening and weekend activities and access to the school’s extensive facilities beyond the school day.

Areas within reach of our Loddon campus

The Loddon campus is well placed for families in south Norfolk and north Suffolk. Nearby Norfolk communities include Loddon, Poringland, Brooke, Chedgrave, Long Stratton and Norwich. Its location also makes Langley accessible to families from north Suffolk towns including Bungay, Beccles, Halesworth and Lowestoft, together with the surrounding villages along the Norfolk–Suffolk border.

An Independent School Serving Norfolk and Suffolk

Although both Langley campuses are located in Norfolk, the school is well connected to families across the wider East Anglian region. Our school transport network uses a fleet of more than 25 minibuses, covering locations throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. More than 60% of Langley pupils currently use the school transport service.

Langley School welcomes international pupils into its diverse day and boarding community. Our location in the Norfolk countryside provides a safe, spacious and supportive environment while remaining within reach of Norwich and its transport connections.

International pupils can access boarding, English as an Additional Language support and guidance throughout the admissions process. Short-term stays and immersion opportunities may also be available.
