We are firm believers in balance.
Regular exercise supports good mental health and leads to better concentration, deeper sleep and improved stress management. Studies also link exercise to improved memory retention, and an increase in serotonin and dopamine, both of which improve mood. We know that Sixth Form can increase stress and pressure, which is why we prescribe regular exercise for all students.
Our students have the opportunity to work out in the gym and to take part in all of Langley’s core sports, as well as other sports such as kayaking, tennis, badminton and swimming.
The Langley Football Academy (LFA) is open to both girls and boys, and we have an inclusive approach to all sports wherever possible.
A number of our students represent Langley at county and international levels, and some play for or participate in external teams or competitions during their time with us. We fully support our students in their endeavours.
In addition, many of our Sixth Formers take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, which is a great way to develop existing interests and discover new ones. The scheme develops experience in volunteering, expeditions, skills or physical challenges, and includes a residential (at Silver and Gold levels).
