Langley Football Academy
Langley Football Academy offers the very best of both worlds – footballing excellence, coupled with outstanding academic opportunity, delivering for our students both on and off the pitch.
Open to boys and girls aged 10-18 years, being part of the LFA means training with former professionals, receiving expert football and strength and conditioning coaching, nutritional advice and post-game analysis, all while following a rigorous academic programme.
Our footballing programme combines group and individual sessions with UEFA A and B Licensed coaches with psychology sessions with a personal mentor, nutritional advice and a bespoke strength and conditioning programme run by industry leading professionals here at Langley School.
As part of the LFA you will receive:
- First class coaching from UEFA A and B Licensed coaches
- Periodised training programmes – incorporating technical and tactical physical, psychological and social and the FA four corner player development model
- Personalised strength and conditioning training and nutritional advice from sports experts
- Regular feedback on performance in training and games
- Mindset sessions to increase self-confidence and belief, teaching players to perform, anticipate and work hard toward a goal
- Use of our Teqball table onsite
- Opportunities to play in the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA), English Schools Football Association (ESFA) and County Cup competitions, alongside friendly fixtures. Players will be placed at local clubs outside school time, offering plenty of opportunities to make new friends and contacts as they play
In the classroom, pupils follow a tailored, rigorous academic programme, which enables them to progress on to Higher Education and careers in sport. In addition to GCSEs, A Levels and Level 3 BTECs, students have the opportunity to complete work experience both in the UK and abroad.

We are here to nurture talent at ages 10 to 18 with a number of entries points into Langley Football Academy:
Year 6-8 (ages 10-13)
Pupils will enter on a hybrid model of four LFA sessions a fortnight alongside their academic studies.
Year 9 (age 13)
Pupils follow an academic programme of Maths, English, English Literature and the Sciences, plus five optional subjects of which the LFA is one. LFA pupils will have their football specific LFA training across eight sessions a fortnight during the school day.
Year 10-11 (ages 14-16)
Pupils study for eight GCSEs made up of Maths, English, Physical Education and four free choices from a wide range of subjects including Sciences, Languages, Humanities, the Arts and Technology, of which the LFA is one. LFA pupils will have their football specific LFA training across eight sessions a fortnight in Year 10, and ten sessions in Year 11.
Sixth Form (age 16)
LFA students will have their football specific LFA training across twelve sessions a fortnight alongside studying for either A Levels or BTEC qualifications. Options include studying for the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sports Performance and Excellence or a wide range of A Level subjects, including Business Studies and Psychology. Work experience opportunities are available throughout the two-year programme. The LFA is also a subject option alongside 2 or 3 A Levels.
International Students
We warmly welcome international students to Langley and we have a dedicated English as an Additional Language department, consisting of highly qualified teachers including one teacher from mainland China, all offered in a friendly and inclusive environment. For the older students we offer individualised IELTS courses in preparation for university entrance.

Meet The Team

The LFA is directed by ex-professional and Norwich City legend Grant Holt. Across his career, Grant scored a total of 157 goals and played in the Premier League. Whilst transitioning from being a player to a coach, Grant has completed his UEFA A Coaching license and Talent ID badges. As director, Grant is able to mentor the pupils and pass on the knowledge gained from his playing days to those in the LFA. Grant also has an extensive list of contacts within the football world
Ali joined the LFA following 6 years at Norwich City Academy as a lead coach and part of the senior management team. Ali holds a UEFA A license and has 20 years experience of coaching in the football pathway, from grassroots through to elite level. Ali has coached and worked with a number of players who have gone on to play professionally in the English leagues and represented their country at youth level.
Jordan was at the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation as a football development officer for 12 years prior to joining the LFA. He is a UEFA B Licensed coach with vast experience and knowledge of the local football community. Currently playing for Wroxham FC, one of his key roles within the LFA is linking the LFA pupils with local clubs in the community.
