Aspiring architect set for Cambridge

Freddie FIHuge congratulations to Freddie (Mancroft, Upper Sixth) for being offered a place at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, to study architecture.

Freddie is currently studying for his A-Levels, taking exams this summer in Chemistry, Fine Art, and Maths. He comments, “I’ve loved studying Art throughout my time at Langley, and having access to the studio has provided me with a space to explore a wide range of new ideas, processes, and materials. Contrasting to Art, I also enjoy Maths as it allows me to challenge myself academically.”

An important member of the Sixth Form cohort, Freddie is one of our Senior Prefects and explains the reasoning behind his degree selection. “I chose architecture as it is a subject where my passion for Art meets my enjoyment for Maths. I wish that, with the skills I gain over the course of my degree, I will be able to design buildings and structures that will be beneficial to society. Architecture also offers me a way in to contribute to tackling the climate crisis, looking at sustainable and eco friendly ways of construction.”

We wish Freddie, and all his peers, the very best of luck with this summer’s A-Level exams and of course the exciting next stages of life after school.
