Pre-Prep pupils connect with nature

Pre-Prep celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week with a ‘connect with nature’ theme.

During assembly, Mrs Daws introduced the children to the concept of how nature and being outside is good for positive wellbeing. Through various class lead activities, the children then wrote poems about nature and how it makes them feel. Everyone became Creative Connies when they made their very own 3D flowers.

During the week, pupils embarked on a wellbeing walk with the Prep School’s much-loved wellbeing dog Honey. One of the most popular ‘connect with nature’ activities was laying on the grass and seeing shapes in the clouds above. George in Reception was particularly pleased with his discovery in the clouds, “I can see a snail!”

The children also enjoyed a mindfulness story and tree hugging, all the while surrounded by the beautiful bluebells. Nyana in Year 2 said, “I loved the bluebells,” while Bodhi from Year 1 said, “Running was the best.”
