2 groupLangley Prep pupils have been crowned national winners of the 2021 Shoebox Garden competition, run by One Seed Forward. The brilliant initiative has seen our pupils using cuttings, flowers, plants and miniature props (including some lovely little Lego and even some tiny hedgehogs, rabbits and dogs) to create some very inventive designs.

The judges said, “We are really impressed with the work that the pupils have done in creating these so please pass on a big Well Done! from us to them.”

Jude L Year 3 7Langley Prep won ‘best overall school entry’ and will receive £100 of gardening vouchers and, what’s more, Oscar W (Crows, Year 5) won a £20 voucher and runner up prize for his Wonderful Weeds garden. The judges said, “There was great creativity in Oscar’s design and lots of information about the benefits of weeds to pollinators. Great stuff!”

Head of Art Mr Edwards was very impressed with the entries and said, “The use of plants and attention to detail was of a really high standard. Lots of creative thinking has taken place here. Well done everyone.”
