Langley School Equestrian Team take 2nd place at NSEA County Championships

It was a successful trip for four Langley School Equestrian team members. They made the journey to The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead last week to contest the NSEA County Show Jumping Championships and Eventers Challenge, having qualified back in November 2021.

Starting the day as a team of three in the 90cms County Championship, Daisy Papworth, Evie Bond-Smith and Harriet Deane jumped super rounds to make the cut and head into the jump-off. With no 4th member meaning no drop score, they held their own and produced stylish rounds to finish a very creditable 8th. Evie was also representing Norfolk as an individual and finished 11th.

Archie Kendle then joined the three girls to jump the 1m County Championship, with Archie also representing Norfolk as an individual. They finished the first round with a zero score to secure their place in the jump-off. With the pressure on and the penultimate team to jump, they all held their nerve to jump fantastic quick rounds and finish on the podium in a brilliant 2nd place, with Archie taking 7th place individually.

Archie also jumped a fabulous round in the 1.10m Individual County Championship class to secure 4th place.

Well done also to Daisy Papworth, who jumped a super round over a very testing and bold 1m Eventer Challenge track.

As always, a big thank you has to go to the parents, supporters, ponies, and pupils. The team all looked so smart and conducted themselves impeccably throughout the day.
