Restless Earth Workshop

Our Prep School pupils had a great afternoon developing their Geography skills with the British Cartographic Society in a disaster relief mapping workshop. The pupils worked in a team in different roles of humanitarian aid, search and rescue, military and medical aid to explore the Japanese earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster of 2011. They mimicked the job of mapping organisations such as MapAction, Shelter Box and the UN in producing maps to support the aid workers mentioned above.

The winners are then entered into the annual nationwide Restless Earth competition, something that our pupils have won in previous years!
