When Tilly looks back on her time in Sixth Form, one achievement stands out above the rest: becoming one of Langley’s Deputy Heads of School. It’s a role that has opened doors, stretched her skills and allowed her to contribute to the school community in meaningful ways – from leading assemblies to representing the school at events. A recent highlight was helping to organise the Women’s Empowerment event alongside Evelyn, bringing together more than 200 young girls and women from several schools to hear from inspiring female leaders.
She also played a key role in Langley’s regular Working Lunches, held every Monday, where pupils meet professionals from a wide range of industries. “It’s been amazing to help create those opportunities,” she says. “You learn so much just by listening to people who love what they do.”

Over the past two years, she feels she has grown most in her people skills. Constantly meeting new faces – from visitors and speakers to younger pupils has helped her learn how to hold conversations confidently and naturally.
“Being a Head of School means you’re always introducing yourself, speaking to groups, or leading assemblies,” she explains. “It’s helped me so much for the future.”

Next year, she will be heading to London to study Musical Theatre at Italia Conti, pursuing a dream she has had “for as long as I can remember.” As a dancer, singer and actor, she has always known that performing is where she belongs.
“Langley has helped me so much with my confidence,” she says. “They’ve supported my dreams and helped me become a more well-rounded person.”
She hopes one day to play Glinda in Wicked or Anna in Frozen – roles that match her talent and ambition. Being able to continue dancing through Funky Feet Performing Arts, based on site, has allowed her to keep training while studying.
Asked to describe her Langley journey in three words, she chooses community, support and kindness.
“Everyone is so supportive – it really does feel like one big family,” she says. “There’s never a dull moment, and people always look out for each other.”
Her favourite subject has been Psychology, which she finds fascinating due to the way it explores behaviour, the mind and human interaction. She has also loved taking part in school productions, especially when she’s had the chance to contribute choreography.
If she could speak to the girl who first arrived at Langley, her message would be simple:
“Work hard because it pays off. And take every opportunity – they all teach you something different and bring out a side of you that you might not have discovered otherwise.”
When asked what she would tell future families considering Langley, she doesn’t hesitate: “No matter who you are, there will always be a place for you here.”
With so many subjects, opportunities and people to meet, she believes Langley offers something for every type of learner and personality. “There’s really no place like it,” she adds.
As she prepares for her next chapter, it’s the friendships and connections she’ll miss most. “The people make Langley what it is,” she says. “I’ve made friendships here that will last a lifetime.”
