Frequently asked questions

General Fees & Payments

  • Fees are payable by the first day of each term.

The majority of our parents have an external termly Direct Debit arrangement in place. In response to parent feedback, we are introducing an in house monthly Direct Debit payment facility from Trinity term 2026. This will be made available for the full 2026/27 academic year. Further details to follow, including eligibility requirements and the application process.

  • Sibling Discount
We offer the following discounts on school fees. These discounts do not apply to children within our Early Years setting or where the child is in receipt of Early Years Funding. These include:

Second Child – 7.5% reduction on listed fees
Third Child – 15% reduction on listed fees
Fourth Child – 20% reduction on listed fees

    Forces Discount
We offer a discount of 20% to Forces pupils. Please let our Admissions team know when you apply.

We also have a Bursary fund, details of which can be found on our Scholarships and Bursaries page.

  • We hope you don’t have to consider withdrawing your child, but we know family circumstances can change. Full details of the contractual basis of our relationship with parents or bill payers are outlined in our Parent Terms and Conditions. Parents must ensure that a full term’s written notice is given of your intent to withdraw your child. Where we do not receive written notice in time, the school will charge fees in lieu of notice.

  • Experienced boarding staff provide emotional support, structured routines, and a welcoming house environment. Regular communication with home is encouraged, and we promote participation with evening and weekend activities from the start. This helps pupils settle quickly and feel part of the community. Support is available from a wide range of people including boarding staff, Heads of Year, Prefects, EAL teachers and guardians so students always have someone to talk to.

  • Our fees are set annually and cover tuition, curriculum resources, and most day-to-day activities. Some incidental expenses such as school photographs and exam fees are not included in the school fees.  Some hobbies/activities are also provided at an additional cost. The Admissions team will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Early Years Childcare Funding

  • Yes, if eligible, Bluebell Nursery accepts tax free childcare which can be used alongside 15 or 30 hours’ funding. We can accept Government Tax-Free Childcare Account payment for nursery fees, early bird, and late stay sessions

  • Yes, we are open 48 weeks of the year which means we can stretch the term time Government funding to support your families’ needs.

  • Not all nurseries accept funded childcare however both our Bluebell Nurseries in Loddon and Taverham do.

  • Funding covers your child’s core childcare hours. It doesn’t include the cost of meals, so there is an additional charge for snacks, a freshly prepared hot lunch, and a light tea. If you need an early drop‑off or a late collection, these sessions are also charged separately. Consumable items such as nappies and wipes are not included in funding either.

  • You may be eligible if you’re working (or on certain types of leave) and have a child aged 9 months to 4 years. Eligible families may be entitled to up to 30 hours of free childcare per week during term time. Eligibility is based on a number of factors including (but not limited to): your child’s age and circumstances, whether you’re working and your income. Full eligibility criteria is available on the gov.uk website.

Wraparound Care & Clubs (Prep School)

  • We offer breakfast club, early birds club, after-school club, a range of optional Hobbies and the Junior Langley Football Academy at the Prep School. Bookings can be made on a termly basis or ad-hoc subject to availability.

  • Yes – breakfast is provided for all pupils attending breakfast club.

  • We try to accommodate same-day bookings where possible but advance booking is recommended.

Boarding (Senior School)

  • Weekly boarding includes accommodation from Sunday/Monday-Thursday/Fri and includes meals and evening activities in addition to access to our boarding facilities including our Sports Hall and fully equipped gym.

  • Yes, flexi-boarding is available for pupils who wish to stay a couple of nights per week. Families can sign up to regular boarding nights per week and pay for these termly. Alternatively, families can request ad-hoc boarding when needed. Please contact our Admissions team to discuss your requirements.

Langley Football Academy

  • Yes. The Academy is led by former Premiership footballer Grant Holt and carries a separate fee that covers specialist coaching, training sessions, equipment use, and competitive fixtures.

Children from Years 3 and 4 can join the Junior LFA at an additional cost per term. Academy players have access to first-class coaching from Jordan King (a UEFA licensed coach with vast experience in the local community), training programmes and personalised strength and conditioning coaching Pupils also benefit from playing in the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) and Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) competitions, plus friendly fixtures each term.

Transport

  • We operate 25 daily bus routes covering key areas of Norfolk and Suffolk. Our aim is to provide a transport service that accommodates your family’s needs. Enquire about transport here.
