Meet our Head of Food & Nutrition

Sian Bailey is our new Head of Food & Nutrition. Based at Loddon, Sian answered some questions for us and here’s what she said…

Where are you joining Langley from and what was your previous role?

I have been a qualified teacher for 15 years. I have worked in a range of mixed comprehensive schools across Essex and Norfolk. My previous role was Head of Design & Technology, which involved teaching food, textiles, resistant materials, graphics, and product design.

What are you most looking forward to about joining Langley?

I teach a subject that teaches students a skill for life, so it is pleasing to work within a school that encourages pupils to enrich lives and develop the skills and tools needed to journey into the next stages of their life. I am also really looking forward to collaborating with local businesses.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of your career?

I have just started to run – I am currently completing the couch to 5k. I enjoy camping. My next adventure is getting a campervan and completing the NC500.

Can you give us a fun fact about yourself?

I was once an extra in a Ray Winstone film. Filming took place in a park in Ipswich. The film is yet to be released. Watch this space!
