Record year for Langley in Oxford University computing

More than 400 Langley Prep and Senior School pupils (from Year 3 upwards) entered Oxford University’s Bebras Challenge. And now the results are in!

In a record year for Langley, 18 of our pupils are in the top 10% of Computer Scientists across the country following the Bebras Challenge, which involves problem solving using computational thinking, based on problems that Computer Scientists meet themselves. Special mention to Prep pupils Henry R (Owls, Year 3) for scoring highest in the country with 119 out of 119 in the Kits age category (6 – 8), and Finley W (Owls, Year 5) who scored highest in the county with 143 out of 152 in the Castors age category (8 – 10), plus Senior School pupil Asa (Mancroft, Year 10) who achieved the highest score in the county at Intermediate level for ages 12 -14, and Jess (Upper Sixth, Beauchamp) in the Elite category for ages 16 to 18, achieving the highest score in the county!
