The Joys of Fishing at Langley School

25th May 2025

The ‘Langley Piscators’ have consistently caught a variety of fish, both large and small, from the very beginning. The structured yet relaxed nature of fishing teaches them patience, responsibility, and the value of persistence.

Fishing is about creating memories, and one of the most rewarding aspects of participating in a school fishing club is witnessing the joy it brings to everyone involved. It’s not just about the skills learned; it’s about the shared experiences and the cherished stories that individuals carry with them.

These moments generate excitement around fishing, sparking conversations that often begin with “Remember when…” Whether they are reminiscing about the time someone was hesitant to handle maggots (no names mentioned!), the pride they felt catching their first carp, or the surprise and laughter from accidentally catching a rare stick fish, these stories foster connections and build confidence.

Sarah Thomson from Barford Lakes will be running a variety of fishing opportunities this half term. For further information, make contact via sarah@barfordlakes.com
