We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Roger Outwin-Flinders as the new Head of Prep at Langley School.
Roger is a school governor, has been an ISI inspector and has 27 years of headship experience. He was appointed to lead Wycliffe College Prep School at the age of 33 and since then has been Head at a number of excellent schools including Fairfield Prep School and Hallfield Prep. He is a Geography and sport specialist and has served on the national committee of IAPS, the Prep Heads association. He has recently developed a strategy for education called Time for Change, a philosophy and practice that aligns perfectly with us at Langley. Throughout Roger’s teaching career, he has been passionate about driving school improvement forward “making excellent schools even better”. He has strong Norfolk links and is a lifelong Norwich City supporter.
“In Roger we are hugely fortunate to have attracted someone of such impressive integrity, experience and expertise. His leadership will certainly drive the school forward and deliver the strategy that we, as a community, have put together. His educational philosophy mirrors that of our own, delighting in an inclusive, holistic education developing the whole child, inspiring a love of learning and fun. I am really excited by this appointment and the fantastic opportunities it brings for us all” commented Headmaster, Jon Perriss.
“I am delighted to become the new Head of Langley Prep School – a place where children have worked and played for over 100 years. Every day the children step out from the wonderful and extensive facilities to a child’s paradise of rolling fields, woodland areas and a river frontage which are used in equal measures for studies and recreation.
From our flourishing Nursery, through the years of discovery and creativity in the Pre-Prep into the Prep School years where children continue to be nurtured and challenged in every way but where there is the inherent belief that EQ is considered as important as IQ. Values of kindness, curiosity, integrity and confidence underpin everything that makes Langley Prep School a very special place to learn and work: a place where difference is championed and celebrated by all.
I am looking forward to meeting the Langley community and with my wealth of leadership experience and a talented team of teachers and support staff, together we want to make an excellent school even better,” said Roger.
Roger will be joining us on our stand at the Royal Norfolk Show on Wednesday 28th June if you would like to pop in and say hello. Our stand is number 38, 2nd Drive.
We look forward to welcoming Roger and his family to the Langley community in September.
