Life In Senior

The journey from Year 6 to Year 11

We support, stretch and challenge our pupils throughout their journey at Langley and it is no different for Years 6-11 at our Senior School.

Our ultimate goal is for each individual to achieve their full potential.

“What truly surprised me was how quickly this transformation took place. I can only speak from my own experience, but it has been a genuine one. Langley has a special way of making all that happen.”

When it comes to academic support, our subject specialists are experts in their field; for example, our Mandarin teacher is a native speaker, our Sports Coaches are ex-professionals, and our CCF staff have served their country. There are also options and interests to inspire everyone, as we offer 15 different sports and teach 17 different instruments, to give just two examples.

Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are key programmes from Year 9 onwards – they fuel teamwork, leadership, confidence and, as we have seen first-hand, young people’s futures.

At GCSE level (Years 10-11), subjects range from Design to Drama, Fine Art to Food & Nutrition, Mandarin to Music, and Photography to Philosophy.

All along the way, pupils take advantage of the embedded well-being provision at the school, including walks with resident well-being dog Indi, using our ‘Time to Talk’ service, and silent reflection time at the beautiful, historic chapel nestled in the woods at Langley Park.

  • The 2025 Good Schools Guide reports for both Langley Prep and Langley Senior underline the unpretentious environment and inclusive culture we have built at Langley. The golden thread that runs through the school is our passion for helping each child flourish by building their confidence, supporting them in exploring their talents and encouraging good character.

We are fortunate to receive lovely feedback from parents throughout the school year. The beginning of the 2025-26 academic year has been no exception, and we would like to share feedback from the parent of a new Year 7 Senior School pupil, who started at Langley in September.

“I spoke with several parents whose children attended Langley. They shared how transformative their experience had been, how their children were nurtured with kindness and warmth and as a result flourished, grew in confidence and formed strong friendships. It was everything I wanted for my child, as we would want for all our children.

What truly surprised me was how quickly this transformation took place. I can only speak from my own experience, but it has been a genuine one. Langley has a special way of making all that happen.”

This wonderful letter brings to life what can feel quite intangible but is the essence of the Langley experience and what sets us apart; our ability to understand the needs and talents of each individual child and seamlessly integrate them into school life.

We love to hear from families throughout their time with us, but it is especially wonderful to receive a message like the below as a summary of their journey. These sentiments came from a family who were relocating internationally, so we were sad to see them go but delighted that they got to experience the joy of Langley.

“The boys have loved their time at Langley, and we would all like to take this opportunity to thank you sincerely for everything. From support with SEND diagnosis to the varied and wonderful experiences, academic achievements, and everything in between.

The boys have grown in so many ways over the past few years. Their educational knowledge has broadened, they’ve developed their sporting skills, embraced a range of enrichment activities, grown socially, and formed meaningful friendships – all thanks to the nurturing environment Langley provides.

Langley is certainly more than just a school of education – it’s an establishment of experiences.”

All Pupils are Valued as Individuals

“The school’s values are evident in the daily lives of pupils and staff. This creates a clear sense of mutual trust and inclusivity in which all pupils are valued as individuals.”
